Nissan
The Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan, which also owns the Datsun and Prince makes, is the third largest vehicle producer worldwide in terms of stock exchange value. An alliance was established between Renault and Nissan in 1999, since which time Renault has held 44 percent of shares. In 1989, Nissan introduced the Infiniti brand as an intended response to the luxury makes produced by Toyota (Lexus) and Honda (Acura). The launch proved successful. In 1993, the Nissan Micra was voted European Vehicle of the Year.
